In a major breakthrough against violent crime, the Imo State Police Command has dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate responsible for a series of abductions across the South East region.
The criminal gang, widely feared for collecting ransom from victims’ families and still killing their captives, had operated across state lines, spreading fear and grief among communities.
Police authorities disclosed that the suspects were tracked through intelligence-led operations and eventually apprehended in Rivers State, where they had relocated in a bid to evade arrest.
The operation, described as a coordinated interstate crackdown, underscores growing collaboration among security agencies to combat organized crime and restore public safety.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the momentum in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes, assuring residents that efforts are ongoing to apprehend any fleeing accomplices.
Finally, citizens were also urged to remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies with credible information to help rid the region of criminal elements.
