Share this:

Hon. Peter Aniekwe, representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, has presented the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (Amendment) Bill, 2025, aiming to redefine Nigeria’s agricultural future. The bill seeks to empower farmers, revitalize rural economies, and advance agricultural innovation nationwide.

The bill will create a stronger bridge between agricultural research institutions and local farmers, promote home-grown solutions, and unlock new opportunities in agribusiness and agro-processing. Hon. Aniekwe stated, “Our farmers deserve more than promises; they deserve tools, knowledge, and support to compete globally. This Bill is a step toward that reality.”

The amendment is expected to boost productivity, create employment for young people in modern agribusiness, and strengthen food security in Nigeria. It will also encourage innovation in crop improvement, sustainable farming practices, and rural development initiatives.

Macpee’s bill reflects his commitment to transforming lives through impactful representation, delivering tangible results, and shaping the nation’s agricultural future.
