Former Edo State governor, , has provided clarification on the ongoing controversy surrounding the leadership structure and internal decisions within the (ADC).

Speaking during an interview Osunbor addressed concerns related to the alleged resignation of Nafiu Bala and the legitimacy of certain party committees.

Osunbor explained that the issue at hand should not be narrowly interpreted as being solely about an individual’s resignation. Instead, he emphasized that the ADC had already made a formal and binding decision regarding its leadership structure prior to the emergence of the current debate.

According to him, the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) had taken decisive steps to reorganize its leadership framework, rendering the present arguments less significant in light of that earlier action.

He further clarified that, regardless of whether Nafiu Bala formally stepped down from his role, the NEC had already dissolved the national committee led by , of which Nafiu Bala Gombe was a member.

This decision, Osunbor noted, was made on July 29, 2025, and had far-reaching implications for the structure, composition, and authority of the party’s leadership.

In reinforcing his position, Osunbor stated, “Even if Nafiu Bala didn’t resign, the NEC of ADC on the 29th of July, 2025 dissolved the Ralph Nwosu led national committee of which Nafiu Bala Gombe was a member.”

His remarks suggest that the current controversy may stem from misunderstandings or misinterpretations of the party’s prior decisions, rather than from any recent developments.

By highlighting the NEC’s earlier resolution, Osunbor underscored that the leadership changes within the ADC were part of a deliberate and officially sanctioned process, rather than the result of isolated actions by individual members.
