Chief Okey Uwadiegwu (Ọnwa) has been duly elected as the new President General of the Nando community, emerging victorious in a keenly contested election that reflected the collective will of the people.
At the conclusion of the polls, Chief Uwadiegwu (Ọnwa) secured a total of 989 votes, defeating the incumbent President General, Chief Nkachukwu Nwakor (Ogbunaechendo na Nando), who polled 807 votes. The result underscores a decisive mandate for change and renewed leadership direction in Nando.
The election, widely regarded as peaceful and transparent, recorded an impressive turnout, demonstrating the community’s strong commitment to democratic values and participatory governance. With this clear victory, expectations are high that the Ọnwa-led administration will foster unity, deepen development efforts, and advance the collective interests of Ndi Nando.
