30.1kg Seized Foreign Vessel Caught with Cocaine at Lagos Port
…… Major Cocaine Bust at Apapa Port
Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted 30.1kg of cocaine aboard a Marshall Islands-flagged vessel, MV Aruna, at Apapa port in Lagos. The vessel was intercepted at Greenview Terminal on Friday, highlighting the agencies’ vigilance and effective collaboration.
The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, praised officers for their professionalism and teamwork, stating the interception reflects the agencies’ commitment to intelligence-led enforcement. The seized cocaine has been handed over to NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution.
This is the third major drug bust by the joint NCS-NDLEA team in recent weeks, demonstrating their zero-tolerance stance against illicit trade. The agencies remain proactive and resolute in combating smuggling attempts, ensuring national security and legitimate trade at Nigeria’s busiest seaport.
