Nigerian Senator, Prince Ned Nwoko, has claimed that his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, told him she was 21 years old when they first met — not 17, as widely speculated.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Delta North lawmaker presented documents, including Regina’s INEC voter’s card, as proof that she was born on October 10, 1998. He said the document has been in his possession since their first meeting.
Nwoko’s clarification comes in response to allegations by activist Omoyele Sowore, who accused him of marrying Regina as a minor. The senator added that Regina’s mother had also confirmed her age in a past BBC interview following their marriage.
