Finance Minister Wale Edun stated that President Bola Tinubu’s policies have put Nigeria on the right track. He cited the reduction in the price of rice to N80,000 from N120,000 last year as evidence. Edun also mentioned that the prices of essential commodities like garri, pepper, and tomatoes have decreased.

In his newsletter, Edun emphasized that the economy is about people, not just statistics. He acknowledged that millions of Nigerians measure progress by the cost of basic necessities like food and transportation. The Minister noted that food inflation has been a significant challenge since the removal of fuel subsidies and currency depreciation. However, he believes targeted measures are starting to show positive results.
