Hon. Peter Aniekwe, the member representing Anambra East/West federal constituency, urged the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) to establish automobile workshop centres in his constituency. During a courtesy visit to NADDC Director General Mr. Oluwemimo Osanipin on August 11, 2025, Aniekwe emphasized that the initiative would equip residents with necessary skills.
Aniekwe highlighted that his constituency, despite being predominantly agrarian, has a significant number of vehicles in use, necessitating such training. He expressed his commitment to contributing and facilitating the establishment of these centres, aiming to make a tangible difference in his people’s lives before the end of his tenure.
The lawmaker noted that while the president has limitations in addressing every local need, lawmakers like him are tasked with attracting development to their constituencies. He stated, “Our president cannot be everywhere; he can only do what he can, but as lawmakers, we are here to help.”
The NADDC Director General described Anambra East/West as a strategic constituency and commended Aniekwe for his efforts to empower his people through automotive workshops.
