In NDC, Everyone Is Free To Run For Any Position’ – Seriake
Share this:

National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, said aspirants are free to contest for any position in the 2027 election without any issue.

Lazeera News reports that Dickson spoke at the NDC’s first national convention in Abuja on Saturday.

Dickson said the party has no faction like other political parties in Nigeria, and there are no litigations.

He said, “There is currently no legal case or appeal happening against the NDC. There are no groups fighting against each other, and everyone is free to run for any leadership role in the 2027 election without any problems.

“We will find that some of these actions violated our constitutional right to freedom of association.”

Meanwhile, Dickson also declared that despite initial opposition, the party has come to stay.

Dickson boasted that no political party in the history of Nigeria has enjoyed the level of acceptance, enthusiasm, and trust from Nigerians within such a short period of time as the NDC has received.

He also declared that multiparty democracy must survive in Nigeria, disclosing that the NDC was established after it was discovered that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had been compromised.

The former Governor of Bayelsa State recalled the bureaucratic and legal bottlenecks the NDC encountered before it was eventually registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) based on a court order.
