By Ogechukwu-Laz Akwaeze

As the year 2025 draws to a close, stakeholders and constituents across Anambra North Senatorial District are taking stock of the projects, interventions, and representational efforts of Senator Dr. Tony Nwoye at the National Assembly.

While this review does not constitute an official account of stewardship, it offers a reflective assessment of the senator’s activities over the year 2025, aimed at understanding the scope, direction, and intent of his representation of the people of Anambra North.

Indeed, within the period under review, Senator Nwoye facilitated the execution of several road infrastructure projects cutting across key communities in Ayamelum, Oyi, Ogbaru, Anambra East, Anambra West, Onitsha North, and Onitsha South Local Government Areas.

Notable among them are newly constructed and rehabilitated roads in Omor, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Okpoko, Fegge, Umueze Anam, Aguleri, and institutional roads within Shanahan University and the University on the Niger. Additional interventions were also recorded outside the senatorial district, including road projects in Ukpo and Nise.

In the area of renewable energy and security enhancement, solar-powered street lights were installed across communities in phases, covering Onitsha North and South, Ogbaru, Oyi, Ayamelum, Anambra East, and Anambra West LGAs. The initiative significantly improved night-time visibility and community safety across both urban and hinterland areas.

The healthcare delivery also featured prominently, with the construction of new Primary Healthcare Centres in Fegge (Onitsha South) and Nteje (Oyi LGA), alongside the renovation of existing facilities in Nsugbe and Ikem-Nando. Work on some of the projects remains ongoing.

Other interventions include the construction of lock-up shops at Otuocha Central Market, provision of multiple boreholes across communities, and the building of houses for indigent widows and elderly persons.

In the human capital development space, thousands of admission opportunities were facilitated for youths of Anambra North into tertiary institutions, alongside job placements and youth enlistment into federal empowerment programmes.

Senator Nwoye also hosted a series of Anambra North Town Hall Meetings across LGAs, described by observers as the first of its kind, creating a platform for direct engagement with constituents and aligning proposed projects with community priorities for 2026.

As part of end-of-year social interventions, Christmas gifts, food items, and cash support were distributed to stakeholders and constituents across the district.

Finally, as the people of Anambra North reflect on the year, many describe 2025 as one marked by visible projects and sustained engagement and with expectations already building for 2026, constituents continue to assess the trajectory of representation through the lens of tangible impacts.

Senator Tony Nwoye elevated Anambra North with Massive Verifiable Projects!

May God bless him, prosper and give him for strength ahead of the next year, 2026.
