The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to introduce a new petrol price of N739 per litre, effective from Tuesday, according to the President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
In a statement, Dangote alleged that some officials had colluded with marketers to sabotage the price reduction efforts, encouraging them to maintain high prices. He vowed to take action against such practices.
MRS, a partner of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, is expected to lead the implementation of the new price, with other partners following suit.
The move is aimed at stabilizing the market and ensuring affordable fuel prices for Nigerians. However, the development has sparked concerns about the impact on the economy and consumers.
