It was reported that a Brazilian billionaire who had never met Neymar had left his entire will to the superstar footballer. The former Barcelona star, 33, was claimed to have been given the enormous sum of £846 million by an unidentified deceased man from Brazil who was said to have been a billionaire.
According to reports from Brazilian outlet RIC, the will had been formalized at an office in Porto Alegre and authenticated on June 12 with two witnesses allegedly present. The matter was now reportedly subject to clearance from Brazilian courts if Neymar was to be named as the individual’s heir.
The billionaire was said to have potentially chosen Neymar because he was reportedly childless and single. Neymar had not publicly commented on the reports surrounding the fortune, but the will could be subject to legal complications even if it was approved.
The businessman was alleged to have opted to give the fortune to Neymar because he identified with him on a personal level, particularly admiring Neymar’s tight family bonds, especially his relationship with his father, Neymar Sr. This relationship was said to remind him of his own late father.
Neymar was reportedly back in Brazil, having returned to his boyhood club Santos in January after a spell with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. During the second half of the 2024-25 campaign, he had scored three goals in 14 appearances, following his previous success at the club from 2009 to 2013, where he had netted 136 goals in 225 games.
