Former Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), has applauded the Nigerian Army troops stationed in Buratai, Borno State, for successfully repelling a recent attack by Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters.
Buratai, who was visiting his hometown in Biu Local Government Area, stopped by the Forward Operating Base (FOB) where he met with personnel of the 135 Special Forces Battalion.
He praised their courage, discipline, and steadfastness in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations.
Describing the visit as a “fulfilling homecoming,” the retired Army Chief commended the troops for their recent operational success and encouraged them to sustain their efforts.
