He buttressed the critical role of fire safety awareness in saving lives and properties, saying that most fire incidents result from negligence.

According to him, in some cases, electrical faults and improper handling of flammable materials are also factors responsible for fire incidence.

The fire service official informed the corps members that fire tragedies would be avoided with peculiar sensitisation and knowledge.

Bashir encouraged the corps members to share the knowledge they had gained with their host communities to foster a culture of fire safety and preparedness.

Participants were trained to quench fire using appropriate tools like fire extinguishers, fire blankets and other emergency fire suppression methods.
